“You know I faked my death, don’t you?” Was the first post to attract attention on Facebook. Her family later confirmed on Instagram that it was a cyberattack. Around midnight on Tuesday, two strange stories were uploaded on that last social network, one of which was deleted after a few minutes.
After several strange messages appeared on Tuesday on the Diego Maradona’s official Facebook accountwho has more than 12 million followers, his family confirmed in Instagram that it was a hack. In that last social network, around midnight, two enigmatic stories were uploaded, one of which was deleted after a few minutes.
“We regret to inform you that the official account of Diego Maradona on Facebook has suffered a cyber attack“, they specified in a publication on the Ten’s profile on Instagram, where he is followed by more than 8 million users.
In addition, they indicated that they are “working to reverse said hacking as soon as possible”, while expressing their repudiation of the “content of the publications that are being carried out”.
There is still no information regarding the reasons for the cyberattack or who is responsible. It could be believed that they are Mexican because they shared a post in support of the president of that country, Andrés Manuel López Obrador. However, around midnight they posted a message of support for soccer player Vinicius and shared the YouTube channel of a Brazilian musical artist.
“¿You know I faked my death, no?” Was the first post that caught the attention on the Facebook account. Other messages followed, such as “There is no coke here in heaven. Just Pepsi”, “One Piece is better than any other current anime” and “Long live Messi, Cr7 is an asshole“.
In addition, they updated the presentation information of the Facebook account and put the link to a YouTube channel. This is the profile of a Brazilian artist who uploads songs: he has only 66 subscribers and 10 videos. In the last of them, several of the comments are from users who came through Maradona’s Facebook account.
The last post was around midnight this Tuesday. “We are with you Vini Jr..”, they wrote next to the image of the Brazilian soccer player from Real Madrid, who suffered from racism in the last game against Valencia.
Around 11:45 p.m., a strange story was shared through the official account of Maradona’s Instagram, who apparently was also a victim of the hack. It is the image of a young woman in a black jumpsuit, hood and sunglasses that she drinks from a glass. “Astro”, she reads behind her. It is the same image that illustrates the YouTube channel shared on Facebook.
By midnight this Tuesday, all these posts were still visible on the profile, so it is understood that the Diez family had not yet been able to recover the account.
