The tennis legend has been doing this since the end of his career

Roger Federer ended his career in September. But he is still connected to the sport – and travels a lot around the world.

Last September, 20-time Grand Slam winner Roger Federer ended his career. The pictures of his last public appearance in doubles at the Laver Cup with Rafael Nadal went around the world. Both Nadal and Federer sat on a bench and cried bitter tears to say goodbye to the Swiss on the big tennis stage. Although the two were the strongest competitors and robbed each other of a number of titles, they also developed a friendship that is rare in competitive sports.

When Federer announced his retirement, Nadal tweeted: “I wish this day had never come. It’s a sad day for me personally and for sport around the world.” Federer was considered a fair sportsman throughout his career and still has many international fans today. But even if he is no longer active on the court, he is still devoted to the sport.

Since the end of his career, the tennis star has repeatedly given insights into his life on Instagram. At the beginning of this year, the Swiss was back on skis after many years. He posted a video of himself skiing on the social media platform. The 41-year-old wrote: “It’s been 15 years and it feels so good to be back on the slopes.”

Athletes often avoid other sports during their active career in order not to injure themselves. Above all, athletes are advised not to ski, as accidents can easily happen here, as the case of Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer showed.

Federer was on the road in New York in May and also visited the New York Knicks basketball players. He also paid a little visit to Formula 1 and spent time with the Mercedes team. A photo shows the former number one in the world tennis rankings sitting in the car owned by British racing driver George Russell. Federer also thanked the Formula 1 driver for lending him the car for a short time.

But even when Federer is not in the sports venues of the world, he passes on his philosophy as a former athlete as part of his charitable projects. A few days ago he was in South Africa and then posted a photo on Instagram showing him with several children.

He is carrying a tennis racket in his hand. In another picture, Federer reads something to the children. He wrote: “An unforgettable trip to Lesotho: so many energetic and smiling children, engaged parents and teachers, dedicated leaders and stunning scenery. Thank you all for the warm welcome.”

In addition to sports, the Swiss and his wife Mirka are also enthusiastic about fashion. The couple was at Paris Fashion Week. The exceptional athlete also met the icon Anna Wintour. She has been editor-in-chief of US Vogue since 1988 and is one of the most influential people in the fashion industry.

Federer and Wintour met at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which is currently hosting the Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty exhibition. So far, there seem to have been fewer breaks in all the trips for the Swiss. But Roger Federer seems to love his life after the pitch just as much as he used to.
