The Port of Huelva restores one of its port railways

The Huelva Port Authority (spain) is in the process of restoring the railway infrastructure received from Renfe, which implies an improvement in its entire rail-port network, since the entry into force of the Railway Sector Law in 2003.

In this sense, those responsible for the Huelva enclave have received seven offers to execute the tender for the contract related to the works related to the 2S2 road rehabilitation project.

The proposals belong to Asch Infraestructuras y Servicios, Ferrovial Construcción, Obras Públicas y Regadíos, Vías y Construcciones, the temporary union of companies made up of Dragados and Tecsa Empresa Constructora, the temporary union of companies formed by Vialobra and Heliopol, as well as the temporary union of companies made up of DSV Empresa Constructora y Ferroviaria and Cycasa Canteras y Construcciones.

Specifically, the Port Authority comments that this road already has sections renovated at the level of infrastructure and superstructure in some parts of the route, which are interspersed with sections in which there are still wooden sleepers and RN-45 rail, present or not, of limestone ballast clearly weathered and contaminated by fines. Therefore, the general state of conservation of the superstructure in the sections that will be modified is currently defective.

The works have an execution period of seven months, a bidding base budget of 4,078,020.67 euros and an estimated value of 3,370,265.02 euros.

Another novelty is that the Huelva Port Authority has recently changed its local window to DuePort. This is a step that increases its competitiveness and speeds up the management of ship calls, in addition to anticipating the movement of goods and passenger transit.
