The Port of Castellón relocates thirteen dust trap screens from the north basin

He Port of Castellon (spain) has decided to relocate a total of thirteen dust trap screens from the north basin. This change is due to the fact that the enclave is building warehouses for the storage of supplies whose walls and height completely eliminate the utility for which these screens were installed.

Consequently, the people in charge of the enclave have started the tender procedure for the disassembly, relocation and conditioning works of the thirteen modules installed in the Ceramics wharf, integrated parallel to the circulation road. The idea is to place them next to the outer road and the north shoulder.

One of the advantages provided by these screens is that they considerably improve the air quality around the port of Castellón, preventing particles from solid bulk loading and unloading operations from displacing on days with strong winds.

The works have an execution period of two months, a bidding base budget of 110,862.69 euros and an estimated contract value of 91,622.06 euros.

Apart from this project, the Castellón Port Authority has recently received three proposals to carry out the tasks corresponding to an external technical office for its development projects in the south basin.
