The mountain. The judo club in the top 15 of Loire-Atlantique

Many parents came to attend the end-of-year gala, the general assembly of the judo-club La Montagne and the graduation ceremony. After several atypical seasons linked to the health crisis, the current season is almost normal. With 138 members, the club has regained its pre-Covid workforce. rejoices Jean-Charles Le Lay, president for ten seasons of the judo club created forty years ago.

The club is in the top 15 [sur 75] Loire-Atlantique clubs. It reflects the work done in training. Absent this season from the tatami mats, Cédrick Hilarion, the club’s coach, black belt 4e and, was replaced by his judo teacher, Michel Cesbron, who made the trip regularly from Maine-et-Loire .

The club has distinguished itself by achieving several podiums in departmental and regional championships. In minimal, Arthur Barbason participated in the French championships. The results are obtained thanks to the partners of tatamis which allow to progress, emphasizes Michel Cesbron. This involves the transmission of values: politeness, courage, sincerity, respect, friendship, self-control. In adults, Christophe Barry has validated the first step which leads to obtaining the black belt and will soon join the club’s circle of five black belts.

The architecture of the club relies on a team of committed volunteers, including our dean, Jean-Claude Haudebourg, 77, who is always present on the tatamis”,recalls the president.

For the future, the club wishes to retain its judokas and is focusing on training for the positions of commissioner and referee. He plans to develop an activity for seniors from the start of the school year in September.
