The ex-tennis star has changed so much

As an active tennis player, Maria Sharapova has won all four Grand Slam titles. The Russian has changed a lot since her career ended in 2020.

Maria Sharapova made headlines in the tennis world. She won all four Grand Slam tournaments and, as a 17-year-old, won in Wimbledon against the then defending champion Serena Williams (6: 1, 6: 4). Sharapova became the first Russian and the third youngest player in the history of the competition to win the most important Grand Slam tournament. But her doping ban from 2016 to 2017 for taking Meldonium has not been forgotten either. In 2020, the former world number one turned her back on the tennis court.

Since the end of her career, Sharapova has changed a lot. During her playing days, she was always seen on the court with long blonde hair, which was usually tied in a ponytail.

But the hair of the top Russian athlete was probably dyed back then. Meanwhile, the now 36-year-old wears a more natural look and her hair is completely brunette. Photos from 2021 can be seen on Instagram, on which Sharapova was still wearing blonde highlights. Now she likes to show her brown hair to her followers.

A fan of the former tennis player wrote on Instagram: “Even though she hasn’t been on the court for a while, Maria is still very beautiful.” Another social media user wrote: “You are so pretty.” Regarding her look, one follower said, “The darker hair is sexy.”

Sharapova got engaged to British businessman Alexander Gilkes in 2020. It is not known whether the two are now married. Last year, the former athlete became a mother for the first time and keeps showing her daughter on Instagram.
