The Euroleague and the ESPN television networka group of subscription channels owned by The Walt Disney Company and Hearst Communications, announced an agreement on Monday whereby the highest European club basketball competition will be seen in the United States from the last games of the title qualifiers.

So, the agreement contemplates the fifth games of the Real Madrid-Partizan qualifiers; Monaco-Maccabi and the one that measures Olympiacos with Fenerbahcewhich are played during this week, in addition to the final phase that will be held from May 19 to 21 in Kaunas (Lithuania) and the entire 2023-24 season.

The agreement with ESPN is one more step in the Euroleague’s strategy to expand its borders outside of Europe and it is that European superstars have participated in the highest European competition who have later triumphed in the NBA such as Luka Doncic, Bogdan Bogdanovic or Pau Gasol, among others.

Globalization is a cornerstone for the growth of the sports market in general and basketball in particular. We are convinced that all basketball fans in the United States will appreciate the diversity of our stories and the experience that the EuroLeague offers throughout the season,” said Álex Ferrer Kristjansson, Senior Director of Marketing and Communications for EuroLeague Basketball.

The figures of the agreement have not been disclosed, although two seasons ago ESPN signed a commitment of 175 million euros with LaLiga Liga española for each of the eight seasons.
