The end of school sports

With the conclusion of the month of May, the School Sports campaign of the Provincial Council for the 22/23 academic year also comes to an end, which, after holding a day of skating on Sunday in Valverde del Majano and the provincial judo final played in the Pedro Delgado pavilion of the capital, only one handball concentration in Nava de la Asunción remains scheduled.
Despite the fact that the medals of a good number of disciplines were awarded in April, the School Sports calendar still had some champions to be known and some concentration in which to gather dozens of minors willing to have a good time practicing their favorite sport. Thus, there were a total of fifty-eight skaters belonging to the Sports Schools of Valverde del Majano, Basardilla, Hontanares de Eresma, Palazuelos de Eresma, El Espinar-San Rafael, Espirdo, Real Sitio de San Ildefonso, Torrecaballeros, Trescasas and San Cristóbal. from Segovia, those who gathered in the Valverde del Majano industrial estate.

Meanwhile, in the Pedro Delgado pavilion, about a hundred judokas wore belts of different colors to fight for some medals that were widely distributed among the categories of prebenjamin, youngest, juvenile, infant and cadet, leaving the representatives of Palazuelos de Eresma, La Lastrilla, the Royal Site of San Ildefonso or Trescasas among the most outstanding in the province.

Now, and after the Triathlon competition has been cancelled, the little school athletes will enjoy a well-deserved vacation that for some of them will be combined with the days of the ‘Especialízate’ program. Thanks to it, the most outstanding athletes and with a certain projection of the Sports Schools in the disciplines of Tennis, Basketball, Triathlon and Padel will participate throughout the summer in different concentrations, focused on improving specific issues thanks to the contribution of qualified technicians.
