Canadian hockey national team defenseman Tyler Myers after winning the World Championship semi-final for Latvia dedicated words of appreciation to Artūrs Shilovs.
It has already been announced that Canada beat Latvia, who played the first World Cup semi-final match in history, with a score of 4:2. Two hockey players from the Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey League (NHL) also play in the Canadian national team – the aforementioned Myers, as well as Ethan Baer, who did not participate in this match due to injury. Shilov also plays in the Canucks system on a daily basis.
“I knew he was a good goalie before this tournament started, just from what I’ve seen of him in Vancouver. He’s been great and I’m sure he’ll be great tomorrow as he goes for a medal. I’m happy for him,” Myers said.
33-year-old Myers has been representing the Canucks team since 2019 – at the same time Shilov signed a rookie contract with the Vancouver club.
