In spite of the changing weather, a total of 68 babies between the ages of 6 and 12 months tested their skills in the baby crawling competition and conquered the distance of less than four meters. Several visitors to the event admitted that this was a great opportunity to spend time with the family in an active and fun way. The Baby Crawling Championship attracted not only families with children, but also passing spectators who supported the little crawlers and captured the adventurous moments.
After the intense competition day, the winners of the prize-winning places were announced, who were given special surprise prizes from the championship organizer “Lidl Latvija”, while the parents received a “Lidl” gift card worth 30 euros. The fastest result was achieved and the 1st place was won by 11-month-old Audrija from Jelgava with a result of 4.60 seconds. One-year-old Leo from Jelgava crawled into 2nd place with a result of 4.93 seconds, while 11-month-old Olivers, who came from Glūdas parish, Nākotne, came in 3rd place and finished with a result of 5.95 seconds. Each small participant of the event, regardless of the presented result, received a delicious promotional prize for courage and determination.
Parents and those present enthusiastically cheered the little crawlers. The spirit of competition did not run out until the last participant, as the results changed every few minutes! Parents used various motivational techniques – played their favorite songs, waved the toys they brought with them, including TV remotes, phones and car keys, to speed up the path of the little athletes to the finish line.
During the summer, the rounds of this fun and smile-inducing championship will also take place in Valmiera, Ventspils and Jēkabpils as part of the festivities.
