After the qualifying phase with an exciting duel between San Marino and Hotsand Macerata, the Serie A championship immediately gets underway, with the start of the poule scudetto, already scheduled for Thursday evening with the first of the three matches (on the distance of seven innings) between UnipolSai Bologna and Parmaclima.
The first place in group A of the first part of the season conquered by the Marches, by just one point of difference, created an iron group, called F by the competition organization committee, which diligently proceeded to compile the calendars, in which at the same time they find the finalists 2022, San Marino and Parmaclima and the winner of the past edition of the Italian Cup, Fortitudo Bologna by Lele Frignani. A fascinating but terribly demanding group, which also included Bsc Big Mat Grosseto, second in group D due to direct clashes, and Tecnograniti Senago. In the other grouping, the three group winners of the first phase, Hotsand Macerata, Nettuno 1945 and Comcor Modena, were joined by New Black Panthers Ronchi dei legionari and Godo, who due to the flooding of his diamond will only play home games from July 14th.
The new formula, which provides for the return of the quarter-finals (from 15 August, to the best of five matches), will make the fight to enter the playoffs more exciting, giving eight out of ten teams the chance to reach the national sprint and the in direct confrontations.
In these days the ten formations admitted to the poule scudetto are gearing up to take advantage of the possibility of having new visas to reinforce the roster.
The schedule includes three matches a week, to be played on Friday, Saturday afternoon and evening, unless the clubs, as happened between Bologna and Parma, agree to play from Thursday. On Friday and Saturday evenings, the choice of pitcher is free, while that of Saturday afternoons is reserved for the pitcher of the Italian school.
PLAYOFF. The quarter-finals will take place from 15 to 21 August; the semi-finals, the best of seven games, will start on Thursday 24 August and end on Sunday 3 September in case of arrival in match 7. The Italian Baseball Series will start on Wednesday 6 September, with the championship being awarded between 11 September (game 4) and 16 September (game 7).
