Holder of a Master’s degree in sports journalism, I fell in love with tennis from childhood and I have always loved reading the beautiful stories of this sport. Today, I want to tell them, take full advantage of my passion and be as close as possible to the aces of the circuit.

A terrible child in the world of tennis for ten years and arguably one of the most famous players on the planet, Nick Kyrgios had an excellent 2022 season before getting injured. The Australian, operated on his knee, has still not played a single match in competition this year but his return could take place, to everyone’s surprise, at Roland-Garros.

As he has just celebrated his 28th birthday, Nick Kyrgios is certainly one of the greatest talents that the world of tennis has known but he has never taken this activity with irreproachable seriousness. The Australian is best known for his excesses of anger on the court or his outspokenness which sometimes goes beyond the limits. Last year, he made a promise to his girlfriend: to play Roland-Garros because she wants to visit Paris. According to rumors, it’s on the right track!

A great talent in the hard

Injured in the knee at the end of last season, Nick Kyrgios made the decision to go through the operation box to get treatment. The Australian had almost decided to return to competition at theAustralian Open before changing his mind. In 2022, he reached the Wimbledon final, losing to Novak Djokovic, peak of his career. Despite his great talent, he never managed to climb into the top 10, an anomaly that we thought would soon be fixed. But we will still have to wait…

Presence in Paris?

One year ago, Nick Kyrgios announced its decision for 2023: to play Roland-Garros. “I will play Roland-Garros in 2023 because my fiancée wants to visit Paris” he confided. According to the latest rumors, a source inside theATP would have revealed that the Australian would be close to honoring his promise. As a reminder, he particularly hates clay and has not played Roland-Garros since 2017.

Return from UTS with Kyrgios

The UTS is a competition created by Patrick Mouratoglou during the shutdown of the circuit due to the pandemic. It’s a competition in a completely different format, with matches taking place over four quarters and where players can use “special cards” giving them a bonus. In short, many rules are added to it and the next edition will take place from next summer, with the first stage at The Angels July 20-23. On the entry list: Taylor Fritz, Diego Schwartzman and of course Nick Kyrgios, “the typical UTS player” according to its creator.
