Tennis Olympic champion Alexander Zverev gained new self-confidence shortly before the French Open.
The 26-year-old won his round of 16 match against the American Christopher Eubanks at the ATP tournament in Geneva after a confident performance 6: 2, 6: 3. Zverev converted his second match ball after 1:08 hours.
“I’m very happy to be here in the quarter-finals, to be able to play golf tomorrow and have a day off,” said Zverev afterwards: “I really enjoyed it today.”
In the fight for the semi-final ticket of the clay court tournament, the number three seeded from Hamburg, who had a bye in the first round, meets the winner of the match Wu Yibing from China against Marco Cecchinato from Italy.
