The new groups experience will evolve the way professional athletes, creators, leaders and organizers of communities and brands connect and actively engage with people of similar interests on the platform. Strava has improved its mapping technology with the acquisition of FATMAP, an outdoor adventure platform, earlier this year. The integration of 3D maps marks the beginning of Strava’s technological evolution to create a map based on people and exploration.

The world’s patented 3D mapping technology enables those active on Strava to comprehensively discover and plan an outdoor experience with local guides, points of interest, and safety information.
