Stealers gets revenge in Berlin

The Hamburg Stealers take revenge for the defeat at the Berlin Flamingos in game one on Sunday. In game two, the men from the Hanseatic city recovered well from the narrow 4:2 defeat and in the end they clearly had the upper hand with 16:5.

Already in the second inning, the guests could look forward to five runs and this with only one hit of their own. Five walks and a hit by pitch did the rest. But the home side hit back immediately. In the bottom half of the same inning, Azcuy Korschorke and Kurzawa Rodriguez, each with RBI singles, and a mistake by the Hamburg defense put the home side on a run to the Stealers.

Afterwards, however, the Stealers steadily increased their lead, while the Flamingos were only able to score once. In the third inning, Berlin’s Carlos Gimon Abreu reduced the guests’ three-run lead by one run. Hamburg’s new signing on the Mound Yasutomo Kubo got the offensive of the Flamingos under control and secured the win in eight innings (5R, 5ER, 11H, 2BB, 7K).

The most successful scorers on the guest side were Brehan Murphy with two hits and three RBI’s and Marvin Killic with two hits, two RBI’s and four runs. The Flamingos used a total of seven pitchers. Benjamin Weber conceded the loss. The Capitals’ starting pitcher was responsible for one hit, four walks and five runs in 1 1/3 innings.
