On the 5th day of the 70th Tohoku High School Baseball Tournament in Iwate Prefecture on the 24th, 4 quarter-final games were held at Kitagin Ballpark in Morioka City, and Morioka 4, Morioka 3, Hanamaki Higashi, and Ichinoseki Gakuin each won. , Best 4 came out.

Morioka 4 won a come-from-behind victory over Mizusawa 6-5 and entered the quarterfinals for the first time in 4 years. The Morioka trio beat Sendai Kitakami 2-1 and advanced to the best 4 for the second straight tournament. Hanamaki Higashi also defeated Makoto Morioka by 4-3 and made a bid for the ninth consecutive tournament. Ichinoseki Gakuin defeated Ofunato in the 7th inning, 10-2, and advanced to the semi-finals for the first time in 7 years.

The semi-final was held at the same stadium on the 27th, and it was a match between Morioka 3-Ichinoseki Gakuin, Hanamaki Higashi-Morioka 4. The winner gets the right to participate in the Tohoku tournament (top 3 teams).
