Sniffing Cheating in a Karate Competition, the Indonesian Contingent Is Expelled from the 2023 SEA Games Cambodia

tvOnenews.com – PB FORKI revealed cheating on Indonesian karateka in organizing the 2023 Cambodia SEA Games. Allegedly cheating came from the referee who led the match.

Unmitigated, cheating occurred in the men’s team kata numbers, men’s individual kata numbers and women’s team kumite numbers. The manager of the Indonesian karate team, Yusran Arief, said that there had been indications of cheating since the first match.

“From the first day, in the Indonesian karate match, I suspected that there was cheating from the word men’s team which should have been the gold target. But it was Indonesia’s opponent in the final, namely Vietnam, who was declared victorious. Vietnam was surprised by the result but at that time I was doubtful,” said Yusran.

The cheating became even clearer on the second day of the match. The karate athlete, Ignatius Joshua, was not taken for his protest which made the Indonesian contingent protest and was expelled by the committee.

“Until now we were tricked again. What should have been a golden chance, three points that should have been entered but were annulled. What even confused me was the referee, who is usually neutral from Kazakhstan, this time, on the contrary, it was not neutral,” said Yusran.

“We also want to protest and we can’t anymore. They said the next match but when we protested we couldn’t. To be honest, the Indonesian karate team, said the men’s team, men’s individual, men’s team felt cheated,” continued Yusran.
