Serie B baseball, last leg: Piacenza hosts leaders Milan

Piacenza is preparing to face the last day of the first round of Serie B. The next match is the most difficult on paper as the opponent, Milano 1946, is the number one candidate for the final primacy of Group A ; it was on the eve of the championship, having hired two starting pitchers of a superior category, it is even more so now that the championship has reached the halfway point: the Milanese have in fact demonstrated their superiority on the field by winning ten matches out of the twelve played so far , suffering their only two defeats both narrowly. Much of the credit obviously goes to the aforementioned pitchers, with experiences of various seasons at the highest national levels. Piacenza, for its part, gave a good jolt to morale with the double victory last Sunday in Parma and, if they play without pressure, they can easily worry Milan. On the other hand, even the red and white squad boasts various very experienced elements in Serie A. The test offered by the pitchers against Junior was absolutely convincing: the two starters – Loardi in game one, Dall’Agnese in game two – literally dominated in the first three innings packing a good number of strikeouts. The reliefs that then alternated on the mountain preserved the advantage by giving the opponents little or nothing. Continuing on this path, Marenghi’s team will be able to obtain some satisfaction.

Appointment then Sunday 28 May at the Stadio De Benedetti, at 11 and 15 for the start of the two big matches.
