Serie A2, Florence conquers Empoli and takes home game 1 of the playoff semifinal

The Palagiaccio Pallacanestro Feminine Firenze is increasingly launched, which in Game 1 of the South Group Playoff Semifinals, surprisingly (but not too much) beats the number one seed in the draw, Use Rosa Scotti Empoli. This was reported by the Women’s Basketball League in a press release.

Game interpreted with great aggressiveness by the formation of the capital, led once again by a spectacular Marta Rossini, 25 points with 6 rebounds and 7 assists.

The match – We start and the challenge seems to be long with Manetti and Fegue finding the basket with continuity. Patanè’s first triple (10-8) while Florence will fight until half-time with heavy shooting.

Dell’Olio and Smutna sign the first mini-break (14-9) but, to shake up the game, one of the most awaited players is needed: Antonia Peresson. Her 7 consecutive points send the teams to the first break and, to understand what will happen next, look more at the just 12 points conceded rather than the 23 scored.

Sumtna signs the 25-12 and it is the phase in which Scotti seems to be the same as always. But, on 34-19, something happens. The final partial will be 5-15 and even the basketball gods will reward the Florentines with a triple from Capra on the siren: 39-34.

He waits for the return to the field to understand what’s going on but, despite the third foul by Fegue and the two free throws by Patanè, Il Palagiaccio commands. Silvia Rossini impacts at 41 and De Cassan’s triple is that of 41-46: partial of 2-12. Merisio and Manetti continue to fight like possessed and Scotti also builds good shots towards a basket which, however, seems blocked.

On the opposite side Marta Rossini and De Cassan, on the other hand, never make mistakes from distance and sign the 46-54 before Ruffini, with five points, brings the score back to a more acceptable 50-56 which becomes 50-58 in the 30th minute.

It starts again with Capra’s triple, always her, and with Silvia Rossini and the last Empoli gasp comes with consecutive bombs from Peresson and Merisio, a 58-65 to which Corsini responds with a timeout. On Merisio’s 60-67 we still hope but it’s more a dream than a possibility. Cremona’s triple for 60-74 in the 8th minute says that for game one we can end up here. The final is 67-82.
