At Jumbo-Visma they still have a lot of confidence in Primoz Roglic’s overall victory in the Giro. The final climb of yesterday’s stage also gave rise to this. Unlike on Monte Bondonde, he was able to follow Geraint Thomas again on Tuesday – or rather it was the other way around.
Still, the Slovenian seemed to have a weak moment at the beginning of the day. INEOS Grenadiers made the pace in the peloton and Roglic was not initially part of the group of twenty or thirty that remained.

At the end of the stage, his foreman Sepp Kuss, who eventually brought him back to the group of favorites, took it lightly. There was more panic among the other teams, he says.
“Primoz was a bit too relaxed, and so was I. I heard what other boys say in their radio: ‘Primos has to release! Primoz has to release!’ I told them: ‘No dude, he hasn’t had his coffee yet this morning, haha.” Nothing to worry about, according to the cheerful American. You can hear and see it for yourself here.
Other teams: “PRIMOZ IS DROPPED! PRIMOZ IS DROPPED!”

Today, Kuss and Roglic should not forget to drink the necessary cup of coffee in the morning, because there is a very tough ride on the program. First the riders ride part of the famous Sella Ronda, then the Passo Valparola is on the program, then the terrifying Passo Giau and to top it off there is the even tougher climb to Tre Cime di Laveredo.
