RUVO DI PUGLIA (BA) – SPORTING MAY: A RICH CALENDAR OF EVENTS LONG TWO MONTHS

Also this year Ruvo di Puglia is preparing to experience its “Maggio Sportivo”, the historic Ruvese event organized by the Municipality of Ruvo di Puglia, which this year celebrates its thirtieth anniversary.

The program of the event, approved by the junta, is the result of a process of involvement of schools and associations implemented in recent weeks by the Councilor with responsibility for Sport Monica Filograna in collaboration with the Giovanidee Forum of Ruvo di Puglia and brings together in a single calendar the over forty events proposed by associations, sports clubs and city schools which will begin in early May and end on 2 July.

Collective activities such as the AVIS Bike bicycle ride scheduled for May 1st, the event organized by the Giovaniidee Forum in collaboration with other city associations for the morning of May 7th (a walking itinerary with the colors of the Color run from Piazza Dante along all city ​​courses) and the Corriperilbene marathon on June 1st (organized by the parishes of Santa Maria Assunta and Santa Lucia with Nel Regno di Oz and included in the winning projects of the municipal tender “Ruvo generates beauty” reserved for speakers) will be open to anyone who wants to participate.

The city schools, on the other hand, will be the protagonists in the initiatives that they wanted to plan at the end of their sports education courses, such as the open lessons of the Bosco School, the motor play activities for the children of the Titty School or the Cotugno Carducci Giovanni XXIII Middle School, or as moment of socialization of new paths, among which we point out the game with giant chess that will be played on the morning of 13 May in piazza Riccio da Parma organized by the Bovio school with the association La Torre del Tempo or the event of orienteering at ITET Tannoia on 20 May in the historic center or the Ultimate Frisbee performances at the Liceo Tedone at the municipal sports field.

Green areas such as Belvedere and Mennea parks and public spaces such as Piazza Dante and the historic city center will be the setting for days dedicated to archery, fitness and gentle gymnastics, sports games and trekking that will climb the Murgia. The municipal sports facilities (the two arenas, the municipal swimming pool, the tennis court) will instead host competitions and games from the schools and the many local associations.

The conclusion will be entrusted to Danza Sportiva with three consecutive days of dance performances in Piazza Matteotti from 23 to 25 June and one of figure skating at the Palazzetto dello Sport on 2 July.

“Sports May – Councilor Filograno said – is an event to which our community is very attached and this year we are preparing to experience a particularly lively edition. We arrived at the program by meeting in person, collecting the proposals, elaborating them together with the protagonists and the young people of the Youth Forum board, which approved this active participation in the municipal event with its entire assembly.

We will celebrate the many excellences of city sport, we will recognize them with prizes that want to represent a tribute from the city to those who distinguish themselves in the various competitions, but as always we will not fail to promote non-competitive sporting practice as a tool for socializing and culture and as a fundamental component for the health of each of us. Some events will also represent moments of city animation, especially as summer approaches. I thank the municipal offices of Area 6 and the local police in particular and the Ruvo Soccorso association for their collaboration throughout this organizational phase and for the work that will take place in the coming months.”
