Roland-Garros: Andy Murray in turn gives up the Parisian Grand Slam

A few days after the announcement of Rafa Nadal’s package, another big name in tennis, certainly no longer at his best, will be missing next week on the courts of Porte d’Auteuil. Andy Murray will not participate in the 2023 edition of Roland-Garros. The Briton is forfeited for the Parisian tournament, as in 4 of the last 5 editions.

Absent in 2022 and 2021, he took part in the 2020 edition of Roland-Garros after having benefited from a wild card. Former semi-finalist of the tournament (2017), Andy Murray nevertheless remained on good results on clay in recent weeks. He notably won the Aix-en-Provence Challenger 15 days ago, which was his first title since 2019 and the first on this surface since 2016.

According to the BBC, the former world number 1 will now focus on his grass season and the Wimbledon tournament, the third Grand Slam of the year.
