“River is a team with a lot of character and that is always at the forefront”

Was it criminal?

-Yeah. The contact is there, it was strong and for me it’s a penalty. Out there, he (Agustín Sández), wanting to reject, does not see me. But I got to the ball before. And the penalty was very well charged.

No more words, Your Honor. almost a week from Super classic what River he beat Boca in it Monumentalafter a penalty converted by Miguel Borja, the protagonist of the play that generated discussions, Pablo Solarihe confessed to Clarion what he felt at the moment he received the blow from the Boca defender. And to his allegation, he added: “The reaction of the Boca players was evidence. They held their heads, until they realized that it had been a penalty.” What’s more: he even showed the evidence. He still has scratches on his right calf from the kick from Boca’s left side.

Since last Sunday, Solari lives a wonderful story. As a child, she watched the River-Boca with her father and her entire family, a River fan. And he dreamed of playing some one day. He not only gave them the emotion of having been the protagonist of the match, but also having been on the field to be able to get emotional at the scene. “My family was very excited about how everything turned out, winning a Superclassic, and experiencing the madness that happened on Sunday, they were very happy. My dad is a fan as a boy and it was the first time he saw a Superclásico on the pitch, it was very exciting for him, for my mom, I’m very happy for them.”the striker admitted that he has the names (Pablo César) of Aimar, in honor of the Clown, and an illustrious surname (Solari) in the history of River, although he is not related to the Indio George and al Indiecito Santiago.

-How many times did you dream of playing a Superclásico?

-You can’t imagine, it’s something incredible and on top of how the stadium was, it felt incredible madness, not even in my best dream would I have imagined a game like that and being the protagonist. What happened was terrible. Already before the classic, a climate was perceived that was very exciting, I had never experienced it before. We are grateful to the fans for all the support they give us, there are 83,000 people every game. And to win it the way we did was incredible.

-And what was it that generated you the most emotion?

-That I ended up hugging Enzo Pérez, Armani, Nacho Fernández, they are all players that I saw from the other side, that I admired and I did not imagine being next to them as I am now. It’s very strong.

-Do you still regret the play of the ball that hit the post?

-And… it would have been tremendous to score a goal. I thought he went in the same way and I think a lot of people thought so too, but he went all the way through the line and out. Luckily we won it later.

-Now you had to play it, but before you lived it as a fan. What memories do you have of the Superclásico? Which of the ones you lived with as a fan do you prefer?

I have many memories of the Superclásicos, but I prefer the 2-0 win in the first leg of the 2019 Copa Libertadores semifinals, with goals from Borré and Nacho.

– Were you on the field?

-No, I was not on the field, but, apart from the final in Madrid, that is one of the best memories I have of a classic because of how the team played. He was much superior and deserved to score many more goals. I had only come to the field once when I tried myself as a boy at River, a game that we lost 2-1 with Lanús and River’s goal was scored by Ogre Fabbiani.

At the age of eight, accompanied by his father Víctor, Solari It was tested in River but finally the test came to nothing. It was a recruitment process that was cut short in the middle of the presidential change of command after the departure of José María Aguilar and the arrival of Daniel Passarella, at the end of 2009, and the changes in the staff of technicians and coordinators of Inferiors.

But the turns of life put him in the place where he always dreamed and imagined. And in which he also wanted her maternal grandmother, Elva, with whom he grew up and who recently passed away. “It was impossible not to remember my grandmother because she wanted me to do what I’m doing today, so this is for her and all the people of Arizona who always support me.”expressed, excited, the puntano.

Solari does not want to be left alone with the victory in the Superclásico and -like all River- he is going for more. Now a brave duel is coming against Talleres, a club that brings back memories because he went through his inferiors. And there they made it extreme, his current position.

-Will this party be special for you?

-Yes, I have a special affection for him and I am glad for his present. Talleres is doing very well, they are a tough team and it will be a difficult game.

-If they beat Talleres, will they define the championship?

-No lack. River is always a candidate, but we have to go game by game. You have to take it easy, there is also the Cup. Step by step. To meet the objectives that we have set because this club is the greatest and demands it. But in Córdoba we are going to have the support of our fans and that is going to be good for us.

-And the other objective is, surely, to straighten the course in the Copa Libertadores in order to qualify for the round of 16…

-Yes of course. We had a hard blow in Brazil that was misleading, but the truth is that the team showed character and made it clear that it is done in the Superclásico. We deserved the win against Boca and it helped us reverse what happened against Fluminense. We show that a stumble is not a fall.

-And what is River made of?

-That it is a team with a lot of character and that it is always at the forefront. And the pattern is given to you by the fact that in the 90th minute of the Superclásico we had six players in the rival area plus Palavecino who shoots the center. That is the image we always want to give, of going forward and winning. You can’t always play well, but we are going to give up everything for the fans, just as they also give up everything to come and cheer us on.
