Rheto Trophy: Top 10 for Theux and Welkenraedt

“Sports operation reserved for 6th year secondary school students of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation”the Rheto Trophy is “a test of sport and adventure” combining sports workshops (kayak, archery, etc.) and orientation techniques.

If the Sainte-Croix and Notre-Dame de Hannut colleges, the Saint-Roch Ferrières colleges and the Saint-Guibert de Gembloux colleges have risen to the podium, we can highlight the (very) good performances of the Saint-Roch institute Theux (4th), the Saint-Joseph Institute in Welkenraedt (8th) and the Saint-François Xavier 2 Institute in Verviers (21st). The Père Damien d’Eupen secondary school (30th) and the royal athenaeum of Waimes manage to stay in the first half of the table (44th), as do the royal athenaeum and the hotel school of Spa (47th) . The performances were less present for the royal athenaeum of Welkenraedt (86th) and for the bischöfliche schule of Saint-Vith (103rd). “Eighth for our students is good but they were hoping for a podium (we had won the previous editions, hence the pressure). In addition, they were 1st in beach volleyball, 2nd in basketball and badminton and 3rd in hockey, great performances”, points out André Derome, for Saint-Jo Welkenraedt. Our district had indeed imposed itself in 2019 and 2022 via St-Joseph Welkenraedt (holding the double, given the cancellations in 2020 and 2021), as well as in 1998 via the royal athenaeum of Spa and in 2010 via the royal college Marie-Therese de Herve.
