With the distribution of the funds raised by the DFL from the national and international marketing of the Bundesliga alone, the Berliners, who have been the first relegated team since last Saturday with the late conceded 1-1 draw against Bochum, will receive around 27 million euros less than in the The 60th Bundesliga season ended on Saturday with the 34th matchday.

For SV Darmstadt 98, promotion to the Bundesliga in this area alone will result in higher income of around 18 million euros.

The exact payments for the coming season can only be calculated on the basis of the final tables of the Bundesliga and the 2nd Bundesliga.

Darmstadt invoice with more than 32 million euros

The DFL paid exactly 47,641,565 euros to Hertha BSC this season. Of this, 25,995,852 euros result from the so-called “equal distribution” – every Bundesliga club receives this amount.

In the 2nd league there are 7,246,926 euros from this pot for each of the 18 participants.

For the Berliners, 3.024 million euros, which every Bundesliga club receives, are omitted from international marketing. The 2nd league does not share in the international proceeds. By taking part in international competitions over the past ten years, Hertha has received an additional 1.2 million euros this season; together exactly 4,303,324 euros, which will no longer exist for the future second division club. The other payments, which cannot yet be determined exactly, will be made from five other pots.

For Darmstadt, the payments from the “equal distribution” of the national proceeds with payments of over 25,995,852 euros (instead of 7,246,926 euros) and the shares in the international marketing revenues of 3.024 million euros will have a major impact in the coming season. Instead of 14,618,167 euros this season, the Bundesliga promoted team can expect over 32 million euros in the 2023/24 season.
