Professional cyclist Lennard Kämna will be the sole captain of his Bora-hansgrohe team at the Giro d’Italia. Top driver Alexander Wlassow had to give up the tour on the unusually cold and rainy 10th stage on Tuesday. The Russian is struggling with an illness. Before his retirement, he was in sixth place overall. Wlassow fell back early on the section from Scandiano to Viareggio (196 km), after 65 kilometers it was over for him. The hopes of the German racing team Bora-hansgrohe now rest on Kämna, who started the Tour of Italy with ambitions for the first time in the overall standings and is aiming for a top ten finish. His gap to overall leader Geraint Thomas (before Tuesday’s stage) was 1:52 minutes.
