A monstrous captain Daniele Cinciarini, 26 points on the scoresheet, drags Unieuro 2.015 to the playoff semifinal, where he will meet one between Udine and Cividale who will play for the pass in Game 5 on Thursday. Coach Antimo Martino’s team defeats Chiusi with a score of 76-89 at the end of a match that saw coach Giovanni Bassi’s team prevail from the arc (11 out of 23).
THE POST-MATCH – Coach Martino: “Historic result”
The mercurials suffer from the overbearing start of Luca Possamai first and Daniel Utomi then, they take command of the match, but on +11 they suffer the comeback of Umana with triples. Down by 5, Unieuro reacts with pride in the last quarter: it starts to score repeatedly from distance, overturning the 29-16 conceded in the third period with a run of 29-11, thus harpooning a well-deserved semifinal.
A team performance, as demonstrated by Fabio Valentini’s 15 points (5 of 8 from three), Lorenzo Benvenuti’s 14 (8 rebounds, six of six from the line), Lorenzo Penna’s 13 (5 rebounds and 9 assists) and Nathan Adrian (5 rebounds). The match
The start is not the best: Unieuro misses from the paint (0 out of 2), from the arc (0 out of 3) and also from the foul line (0 out of 2), finding the first two points of the match with Adrian after 3′ 11 for the 6-2. It’s a Possamai in an on fire version: he alone scores for Umana, grabs 3 rebounds and is 10-2 after 4’15. After the triple of the usual Utomi, Penna takes the chair: not only an assist man, but also a scorer (13-7). At +8 by Utomi comes the first timeout by coach Martino. Possamai and Utomi keep going on target together with Bolpin and in an amen Chiusi is at -3.
