Persib Responds to Plans to Increase Foreign Player Quotas – Persib Bandung and West Java Sports News Online

One player was successfully recruited by Persib in the transfer market ahead of League 1 2023/2024. Ryan Kurnia was hijacked by Maung Bandung from Persikabo in 1973 and was contracted with a two-year duration by management. The winger said the proposal to join from Persib was indeed difficult to refuse and was immediately greeted positively.

But joining Persib, who have star player material, is certainly a challenge for him. Because with his position as a winger, of course there are many competitors to fight over playing minutes. Even so, Ryan said that he was sure of the opportunities that existed and was ready to compete in the team.

“Seeing that there are opportunities and competition from within the team, of course there must be opportunities, as long as we want to try and prove to the coaches and I am ready with my own abilities,” said Ryan when interviewed by journalists, Thursday (4/5).

Ryan is a player from Bogor who in several seasons has often changed clubs. Before last season, he wore costumes for Persita, Sulut United and Arema before becoming part of Persikabo 1973. However, many said he had also started his career from the Persib Education and Training team because of his posts on Instagram which showed him wearing a Persib costume.

Ryan also opened his voice about this and stated that he had never been a Persib Training player. At that time he was defending the 2016 West Java PON team, but was included in the Education and Training team who wanted to try out with Maung Bandung. So he was only involved in one trial match to fill the void.

“So that’s a lot of my rumors in the Education and Training, I’ve never been in the Education and Training. When I was at PON, there was a Training and Education trial against Persib, because the Education and Training students were not complete, I filled in the blanks. Directions from the coach,” said the 26-year-old player.

His arrival to Persib also allowed Ryan to reunite with players on the 2016 West Java PON team such as Abdul Aziz, Henhen Herdiana, Erwin Ramdani and Febri Hariyadi. “If it’s a reunion, those from PON already know them. And I’m happy to be a team again with them,” said Ryan concluded.
