Jakarta, tvOnenews.com – Chairman of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) Malaysia, Mohamad Norza Zakaria, asked for a thorough evaluation of various sports following the poor results at the 2023 SEA Games.
The Malaysian contingent drew a lot of criticism for failing to reach the gold medal target at the 2023 SEA Games. The neighbor country was only able to collect 34 gold medals throughout the tournament.
This number is six gold medals short of the initial target set for the 2023 SEA Games.
Malaysia then finished seventh in the final medal standings.
Malaysia is under Singapore, which claims sixth place with a collection of 51 gold. Then the Philippines (58) and Cambodia (81) respectively sat in fifth and fourth positions.
