Opening of the new Jeu de Boules courts and Exercise Garden in Zevenhuizen

On Thursday afternoon, May 11, around 3:30 p.m., alderman Harrie Stomphorst officially opens the new Jeu de Boules courts and the new Exercise Garden next to the Multi Functional Center de Molenstreek in Zevenhuizen.

Both acquisitions were built last winter next to the MFC on the sports complex. 6 matches can be played at the same time on the Jeu de Boules courts and in the Exercise Garden there are exercise devices with instruction boards on how to use them.

The Jeu de Boules courts were built with the help of volunteers by the Zoutman contractor from Zevenhuizen and the playground equipment in the exercise garden was supplied by ‘t Faan from Leek.

It was initially the intention to place the exercise equipment along the ice rink, but due to the development of the new Jeu de Boules track, the exercise garden has now been built next to it.

Financially, the new acquisitions have been made possible by the municipality of Westerkwartier, the National Program Groningen, the RABO Coöperatiefonds and the Univé Neighborhood Fund.

MFC de Molenstreek is now the center for Football, Korfball, Skating, Tennis, Darts, Badminton, Zumba, Volleyball and Jeu de Boules. Delegates of these clubs are of course invited to attend the opening. The exercise garden is always accessible to people who want to work on their fitness. The Jeu de Boules courts can also be used by other associations in the village in consultation.
