NFL: 49ers agree with three players including quarterback Brandon Allen

The San Francisco 49ers have signed quarterback Brandon Allen, defensive lineman Marlon Davidson and tight end Troy Fumagalli to one-year contracts.

Allen will fill a void at the 49ers as the California squad was looking for an additional quarterback for offseason training as Brock Purdy is still recovering from elbow surgery.

Choice of 6e round of the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2016, Allen also played for the Rams, Broncos and Bengals.

In 15 games, including nine as a starter, he threw 10 touchdown passes against six interceptions in addition to accumulating 1,611 yards.

For his part, Davidson has played 19 games for the Atlanta Falcons over the past three seasons. The second-round pick recorded 29 tackles, a quarterback sack and an interception in addition to recovering a fumble.

Fumagalli will return to the 49ers, having spent time with the team last season. In 19 career games, all with the Denver Broncos, he caught 14 passes for 118 yards and two touchdowns.
