For Stan Wawrinka (ATP 84), the ATP 1000 tournament in Rome ended in the second round. Romand lost to Grigor Dimitrov (BUL/ATP 33) 4: 6, 6: 7 (3: 7). Wawrinka conceded an early break at the beginning of both sets, but was able to make up for this deficit in the second round and equalize to make it 3:3. In the tie-break, however, the 38-year-old acted too incorrectly and quickly fell behind with two mini-breaks. After a good hour and a half, Dimitrov’s 6th victory in the 13th direct duel with the Swiss was certain. In the next round there could be a clash with Novak Djokovic. The world number 1 competes in the evening with the Argentine Tomas Martin Etcheverry (ATP 61).
