Eintracht Frankfurt has confirmed the next new signing. A young midfielder comes to Main free of charge and strengthens the U21s.
Frankfurt – At Eintracht Frankfurt, squad planning for the upcoming 2023/24 season is in full swing. But not only the Bundesliga team will be strengthened in summer, the U21s, currently leaders in the Hessen League, should also have more quality in the squad in the coming season. Eintracht Frankfurt confirm new signing
Eintracht Frankfurt brings in Mark Muller. The 21-year-old is moving from VfR Aalen to Main on a free transfer for the 2023/24 season and is expected to pull the strings in midfield for the U21s. In the current season, the central midfielder has made 22 appearances in the Regionalliga Südwest, in which he was able to set up a goal. Since his contract expires after the season, SBU does not have to pay a fee to sign Müller.
“At the age of 21, Mark Müller already brings a lot of regional league experience to Frankfurt. He is a technically adept player who acts cleverly between the lines in various positions in midfield, has good depth, but can also calm down the game when necessary,” says Patrick Ochs, Sport Director U16-U21, on the club’s website quoted.
“We look forward to working with him in the future and are convinced that he will enrich the game of our U21s,” continued the former Eintracht Frankfurt Bundesliga player.
Eintracht Frankfurt: Müller comes from Aalen
Müller, who was born in Künzelsau in Baden-Württemberg, switched from FSV Hollenbach to the U19s of VfR Aalen in 2010. After a year, he was promoted to the pros in the summer of 2020 and immediately gained a foothold in the regional league squad. Within a very short time he secured a regular place and showed his enormous potential on the pitch.
All in all, Mark Müller made 80 appearances in the regional league for VfR Aalen, in which he scored five goals and set up two more goals. The 21-year-old signed a contract with Eintracht Frankfurt regardless of league affiliation. The U21 of the SGE is currently fighting for promotion to the Regionalliga Südwest. Should this succeed, Müller would meet his former club in the coming season. (smr)
