NBA playoffs: Boston doesn’t make a miracle, Miami – Basket goes to the final

(ANSA) – ROME, MAY 30 – The Miami Heat have qualified for the seventh NBA Finals in their history, where they will face the Denver Nuggets, after beating Boston 103-84 in game 7 of the Eastern Conference final and thus breaking the Celtics dream of making history as the first team to come back from 0-3.

Not only are the Heat chasing their fourth title, following those collected in 2006, 2012 and 2013, but they can also set a first: be crowned champions starting as the No. 8 seed and after having to overcome the play-offs to reach the playoffs. In 1999 the New York Knicks came close, also starting from #8, but were beaten in the final by the San Antonio Spurs.

Unlike the last matches, the good play at the Td Garden in Boston almost had no history, thanks above all to the performances of Jimmy Butler (28 points, seven rebounds and six assists) and Caleb Martin (26 points and ten rebounds). The guests finished the first quarter ahead 22-16 and extended at halftime, making any recovery attempt by the Bostonians in vain. Between them, Jaylen Brown and 18 Derrick White brought 19 points, but only 14 Jayson Tatum, who played the whole match in pain from a sprained ankle suffered in the first few games.

The Finals series kicks off on Thursday, with Miami heading to Denver. (HANDLE).
