National historical archery championship in Cisterna

Sunday 28 Maystarting at 9, the historic center of Cistern of Latina will be populated by archers in medieval costume to compete in the stage of Italian Historical Archery Championship.

The competition is organized by the Tres Tabernae Heraldic Association and ONMIC, with the patronage of the Municipality of Cisterna di Latina, the LIAS (Italian League of Historical Archers) and the ASI (Italian Sports and Social Associations) as well as the Presidency of the Council of Ministers , the Lazio Region and the Province of Latina.

The historical costume archery competition has already stopped in Cisterna on 20 November last year for the 3rd competition of the LIAS/ASI 2022-2023 Championship, enjoying great success.

The one on Sunday represents the 14th round of the championship. The costumed archers will come from the regions of Lazio, Tuscany and Campania; there will also be a representation of the Marche and Umbria regions, in reduced form due to the well-known flood.

The event will involve the historical center of Cisterna starting from Piazza XIX Marzo, the parking area in front of the town hall, the perimeter of Palazzo Caetani, with the presence of 18 competition pitches, with fixed or mobile targetsfor the dispute of competitions in the various types of bow: traditional, historical, with historical shape.

Traffic changes

Given the considerable influx of people, in order to be able to allow a regular and safe course of the competition, as well as to be able to allow a regular inflow and outflow of citizens, some temporary changes to traffic regulations in the center and in the historic center of the city, namely:

from 09.00 on 27 May to 18.00 on Sunday 28 (and in any case until the end of the competition and event) a parking ban is established with forced removal on via San Pasquale – via Bassi (Parking area only in the part at the corner with Via Cavour where the ruins are and in the vicinity of the Bocciodromo);

at the same time it will be forbidden to park with forced removal with the exception of those authorized by the organization of the event in the parking area between via Carducci and via Zanella in front of the Palazzo dei Servizi (entire area);

from 5pm on 27 May to 6pm on 28 May (and in any case until the end of the competition and event) via San Pasquale and the rest area between via Carducci and via Zanella in front of the Palazzo dei Servizi (entire area) will be closed to vehicular traffic with the exception of those authorized by the organization of the event.
