Narbonne-Plage: beach tennis fans ready to hit the sand

After the departmental padel championship, the 1^is April, it’s another tennis derivative to celebrate. Beach tennis whose Aude championships will take place on Sunday May 14 in Narbonne-Plage. It is also played in doubles, but as its name suggests, on the sand. Hence the need to be a good volleyball player. A special stringless racket is also necessary (equipment loan on site).

All levels are accepted for women and men (the competition is open to FFT 2022 licensees born in 2008 or before). Seniors €10 per player; youth 8 euros per player.

Four draws will be organised: women’s doubles (FFT licensees born in 2003 or before); men’s doubles (FFT 2023 licensees, born in 2003 or before); double girls U14 (2009/2010); double boys U14 (2009/2010); double girls U18 (2005 to 2008); double boys U18 (2005 to 2008).

All meetings will take place on the sand in a relaxed and musical atmosphere. The chosen organization, poules or FMC (Formula Multi Chances), guarantees all the teams to play several matches.

The format of the meetings will be determined according to the number of registered teams. The finals must adopt format 4. The different types of formats: long format, format 4 (2 sets to 6 games with decisive points; 3^e 10-point super tiebreak set); short formats, format 3 (2 sets to 4 games with decisive points; decisive game at 4-4; 3^e 10-point super tiebreak set), format 5 (2 3-game sets with tiebreak; 3^e 10-point super tiebreak set); format 6 (2 sets to 4 games with decisive points; decisive game at 3-3; 3^e 10-point super tiebreak set); specific format (1 set of 9 games with decisive point; with decisive game at 7 points at 8-8).

Registration will be validated upon receipt of payment by check (check made payable to the Aude de Tennis committee and sent to the Aude de Tennis committee – Center départementalised Alain Biau – chemin de la Lande – 11 800 Trèbes ) no later than May 10, 2023 (postmark as proof). The teams, whose payment would not have reached the Committee, will be purely and simply withdrawn from the competition.
