Now that the regular season in the Kitchen Champion Division has come to an end, the play-offs for promotion to the Eredivisie are just around the corner. NAC Breda and Willem II, among others, are aiming for a return to the highest level. This is the schedule of the post-competition.
The play-offs consist of three rounds with a total of seven teams. Only the winner of the playoffs will play in the Eredivisie next season. Each round consists of a diptych, with a home and an away game. Away goals do not count double.
The four period champions or substitute period champions and the two highest ranked teams without a period title in the Kitchen Champion Division enter the first round. The number sixteen of the Eredivisie will participate from the second round. There are still two games to play in the Eredivisie. It is not yet known which club will finish sixteenth.
Heracles Almelo and PEC Zwolle finished first and second respectively in the Kitchen Champion Division and are therefore promoted directly to the Eredivisie. The two clubs also won three of the four period titles. Their place in the play-offs is therefore taken by the next two teams without a period title in the final ranking.
Coincidentally, the numbers three to eight all participate in the play-offs. The third period title went to number three Almere City. Willem II, MVV Maastricht, NAC Breda, VVV-Venlo and FC Eindhoven are the other participants.
