More than 200 badminton players expected in Souillac for the Athlé 46 badminton section tournament

Three young badminton players from the Souillac Athlé 46 badminton section were present on the weekend of May 13 and 14 at the Lot Jeunes championship. And it is clear that the results have exceeded the expectations of their leaders.

Lot Champions

Indeed, Maëlia Bruneau is the youngest Lot champion in singles and doubles. Ilan Louis-Sertier and Peio Cassagne are champions of the Lot in doubles, and Peio is champion of the Lot in singles. Congratulations to them for their results and for the good spirit they had throughout the year, as well as to the educators and parents for their involvement.

This weekend will take place the sixth national tournament organized by the members of the section. This tournament, which will take place from Friday 19 to Sunday 21, now has a good reputation that goes beyond our borders.

51 clubs represented this weekend

On the grounds of the intercommunal gymnasium, more than 200 players (a record) from 51 clubs and 17 departments will be able to see each other compete. Badminton will honor, on the one hand, its reputation as a mixed sport, since more than 40% of the participants will be women and, also, as a sport open to all with participants aged 13 to 80.

Everything will start this Friday, May 19 with the men’s singles and women’s singles, then will follow the doubles on Saturday and, to close these three days of badminton, the mixed doubles on Sunday. Free entry and snack bar on site.
