Miderec begins the construction of Community Sports Centers in San Cristóbal

Camacho complies with the instructions of President Abinader

EL NUEVO DIARIO, SAN CRISTÓBAL.- As part of the national program for the construction and repair of sports facilities carried out by President Luis Abinader, through the Ministry of Sports, the minister of this portfolio, Francisco Camacho, started the work construction of two Community Sports Centers, one in Los Cantines, in the municipality of Hatillo, and another in Los Bajos de Haina, both in the province of San Cristóbal.

During the ceremony, Minister Camacho stressed that he has precise orders from President Abinader to return sport to the neighborhoods and to dignify the facilities so that young people can carry out their practices in complete freedom and safety, and thus guarantee a promising future for them. because sport is health, discipline and commitment.

“Definitely, we can say that sporting change has come to this province of San Cristóbal at the hands of President Luis Abinader. The youth, which is the future of our nation, in the coming months will be able to enjoy adequate sports facilities and with all the necessary facilities to practice the sports they prefer,” added Camacho.

The works of the works, at a cost of 46,560,518 pesos, are added to another eight finished sports facilities, seven in progress and one tendered by the Ministry of Sports and Recreation in the province, for almost 107 million pesos.

In the communities of Los Cantines and Los Bajos de Haina, two separate Community Sports Centers will be built that will include courts for basketball, volleyball and other indoor sports, two stands, public bathrooms, a multipurpose room, metal structure, equipment for these, general lighting, conditioning of main access areas and the painting of its exterior and interior walls.

Camacho’s announcement came during a ceremony held at the sports center in the municipality of San Cristóbal, a facility that will also undergo a complete repair process.

The scope of these works includes the gymnastics areas and the installation of chairs, as well as the construction of a concrete slab, laying the floor of the gymnastics and judo area, and the construction of a central bleacher with its respective seats.

Hydraulic board supports will also be installed, certified by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), as well as electrical and electronic systems in the game areas.

Minister Camacho was accompanied by the provincial governor, Pura Casilla; the municipal mayor, José Montás; Luis Chanlatte, general secretary of the Dominican Olympic Committee, and sports authorities of this city.
