Mavericks rule out sign-and-trade with Lakers for Kyrie Irving

With the removal of Los Angeles Lakers at the hands of Denver Nuggets, all kinds of speculation about the future of several players of the angelina franchise have emerged in the last hours. One of them spoke of a possible ‘sign-and-trade’ transfer by Kyrie Irvingcon D’Angelo Russell as the main piece of the exchange. According to the journalist Marc Stein, this option does not interest some Deveryone’s Mavericks that they still hope to be able to sign the controversial point guard, a free agent, this summer.

Irving’s name has not stopped ringing for LA even before the elimination of the team of LeBron James of the playoffs. The siren songs have even annoyed LeBron’s point guard and former teammate in the Cleveland Cavalierswhere both got a historic ring in 2016. Stein says that the Lakers have given no real sign of wanting to pursue the services of Irving this summer.

The one who has given signs of his willingness to continue wearing purple and gold is Russell, who despite having finished the course losing ownership in the fourth game against the Nuggets, trusts in the team’s chances and prefers to continue in a powerful market and entertaining like the one in the Californian city. According to Stein, the Lakers’ priority is to retain free agents like Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura, something that will not be easy since they will have a lot of market in other places.
