The title player of the week goes to the south of the republic this week. Mainz Athletics’ Marlon Jimenez Ramos earned the award with two convincing performances at bat in the two games against the Haar Disciples.
The Spanish-Cuban infielder trumped especially in game one of the double header. In the hard-fought 11:8 success of his athletics, there were four hits in five at bats for Jimenez Ramos in the books. Three RBI’s went to the account of the 32 year old. But in the second game, which Rhein-Hessen also won, he was again successful with two hits and an RBI.
Jimenez Ramos has been active for the Athletics since the beginning of the 2022 season and has developed into one of the absolute top performers there. In the previous season, he had a batting average of .366, 45 hits, including 10 two-base hits and three home runs. In addition, he secured the title of player of the week in his opening season with Mainz.
