Marenis will return to Sweden’s second league; Gudlevsky will leave the champion

“Vikings”, which returned to “Allsvenskan” after a 14-year break, reports that the agreement with 30-year-old Maren has been concluded for the next season.

Marenis started the previous season in “MoDo” and scored five goals and five assists in 23 matches in the second league of Sweden, and also accumulated a positive efficiency coefficient of +1.

In December, he added to the ranks of “Orebro”, scoring one goal in 19 matches in the regular tournament of the higher league, or SHL, and accumulating a utility of -4, but in the “play-off” he remained without points in 13 battles and had a neutral utility coefficient. “Orebro” did not overcome the semi-final barrier this week.

The season before, Marenis played in the third league team “Kiruna IF” and in the “Allsvenskan” club “Vita Hasten” from Näsöping. Previously, during his career, Marenis played 69 games for Riga “Dinamo” of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), where he scored five goals and assisted four times.

In Latvia, Marenis played for “Mogo” club. At the youth level, Marenis played in Canada and the United States, but he spent four years in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) before starting his professional career.

Meanwhile, “MoDo” announced on Tuesday that it will not continue with Marenis’s peer Gudlevski, who helped the team win a ticket to the SHL. In 15 matches of the elimination tournament, Gudlevsky allowed an average of 2.09 innings and saved 91.8% of the shots, while in the regular tournament in 39 fights, he averaged 1.88 innings and saved 92.0% of the shots.
