Luca Marini Recounts the Horrible Moment When Collided by Alex Marquez

Jakarta

Italian Ducati racer Luca Marini recounts the horrific moment when his motorbike was hit by Alex Marquez at the French MotoGP last weekend. Marini admitted that she was very scared when her body hit the asphalt and was thrown several meters to the edge of the track.

It is known, shortly before the incident, Luca Marini lost his balance when cornering. However, he tried to control his bike to stay awake and drive in the proper position.

Unfortunately, when the motorbike was under control, Alex Marquez suddenly appeared from behind. Marc Marquez’s biological younger brother hit Marini’s motorbike from the right side. Marini bounced into a falling position that looked less than ideal.

“When I was able to balance the motorbike, I received a hard blow from behind, and I unknowingly fell on the asphalt,” said Luca Marini, starting his story, quoted from Sky Sports MotoGPTuesday (16/5).

Luca Marini confirmed that the incident was terrible and had scared him. When his body fell on the asphalt, many racers were speeding from behind. He admitted that he could only surrender and pray that nothing would snatch his body.

“I was just scared when I realized I had fallen. When I was on the ground, I closed my eyes and I just hoped that no other motorbike would grab me from behind,” he said.

However, Luca Marini did not want to blame Alex Marquez for the incident. According to him, everything was pure accident. It should be noted, thanks to his extreme maneuvers, Alex Marquez has been sanctioned with three grids in the next race.

“It was difficult for Alex to see me. It was just an unfortunate moment for us but fortunately no one was hurt.”

Luca Marini’s condition after the accident

Luca Marini has gone through a body examination and X-ray process. He admitted, the results were fine alias no part of the bone is cracked or broken. It’s just that, he said, his finger still hurts a lot.

“The accident could have ended worse than what I’m experiencing now. According to the results of examinations and X-rays, nothing was broken in my body. However, I experienced excruciating pain in the fingers,” he said.

Even though she’s fine, Marini is likely to undergo further examinations just in case there are problems with other organs.

“Maybe when I get home, I will do another examination and especially physiotherapy to try to see my condition again,” he said.
