LeBron James’ Lakers are one step away from elimination

LeBron James flirted with a triple double while racking up 23 points, seven rebounds and 12 assists, but it wasn’t enough to assert the home against the Denver Nuggets and the Lakers lost Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals 119-108.

LBJ hit back-to-back 3-pointers to close out the third quarter, and the Lakers led momentarily to start the fourth quarter. However, the Nuggets went on a 13-point unanswered streak which cemented the third win for the number one seeds and placed the Los Angeles franchise one step away from elimination.

The scoring responsibility of the Lakers fell to Anthony Davis and Austin Reaves for much of the game. The center added 28 points and recovered 18 boards while the guard added 23 points. From the substitute bench, Rui Hachimura and Lonnie Walker IV made their contribution. The Japanese forward had 12 points and Walker added nine.

Another excellent night for Jamal Murray

Jamal Murray had a spectacular first half in which he scored 30 points. Only Devin Booker and Allen Iverson had scored 30 against Los Angeles in a postseason game. However, the Lakers dried him up in the third quarter and he didn’t score a basket. The Nuggets point guard reappeared in the final period and finished Game 3 with a record of 37 points, seven rebounds and six assists.

Although Nikola Jokic’s playing time was limited by fouls committedthe Serbian center played 38 minutes and managed to add 24 points, eight assists and six rebounds.

The Nuggets managed to overcome the Lakers thanks to the offensive contribution of their role players. Former Laker Kentavious Caldwell-Pope added 17 with four 3-pointers while Bruce Brown added 15 points. In addition, Michael Porter Jr. had a solid double double of 14 points and 10 rebounds seasoned with 10 assists.

When will Game 4 be between the Lakers and Nuggets?

Game 4 of the series between the Lakers and Nuggets will be on May 22 at the Crypto.com Arena. The tip-off is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. Eastern time in the United States.
