La Complutense wins the National University Orientation

The Complutense University was crowned in orientation at the closing of the CEU’s in Valladolid, after a few months being the epicenter of the Spanish University championships, with the modalities of cross country, futsal, tennis, volleyball, rugby 7, badminton, archery and swimming, paddle tennis and this last weekend orientation.

In Portillo, the last CEU was held with 24 participating universities that had to take the orienteering tests in medium, long, sprint and O-Precision (Trail-O) distances.

The Complutense University was crowned as the best center with 1,868 points, followed by the Polytechnic of Madrid with 1,861 and the Catholic University of Murcia with 1,669. The host university, UVa, was ranked eleventh with 1,243, with 24 participating centers.

By tests, in the Sprint category with 86 participants, the victory went to Álvaro Casado Gómez from the Madrid Polytechnic, in the male category, and Nerea González Peña, from the Madrid Complutense, in the female category.

In the middle distance, with identical participation, 46 boys and 40 women, the victory went to Héctor Sanchís Pont from the Autónoma de Madrid and Nerea González Peña from the Complutense who repeated the victory.

While in long distance Álvaro Casado Gómez from the Polytechnic was the one that used the least time, and Nerea González Peña herself in the female category. In Trail-0, Casado Gómez himself was the first classified.
