Zuzanna Górecka suffered an injury in the second final match of Tauron Liga. Her team £KS Commercecon Łódź defeated Developres Rzeszów after a tie-break, but the victory faded into the background. In one of the actions, the 23-year-old jumped out to attack, and when she fell, she accidentally put her foot down and fell on the parquet. The volleyball player grabbed her knee and burst into tears. She was unable to continue the game. Medical personnel immediately rushed to her. They had to carry her on a stretcher. Górecka left the dance floor, hiding her face in her hands.

The injury looked very dangerous, which is why volleyball fans from all over the country anxiously awaited information on the health of the host Polish national team. Finally, on Monday, the ŁKS Commercecon Łódź club posted the message on Twitter. Unfortunately, it wasn’t good news. – The black scenario has been confirmed… Zuza Górecka suffered an injury to her meniscus and anterior cruciate ligament. In the coming days, the host will undergo surgery, and in the following months, rehabilitation and work on getting back in shape. We know you will come back stronger! – we read in a special tweet.

Such serious knee injuries take at least several months to heal. This means that Górecka will most likely lose the entire upcoming season. The Volleyball League of Nations will start at the end of May. In the first tournament within its framework, Stefano Lavarini’s players will play in Turkish Antalya with Canada, Italy, Thailand and Serbia. Later, they will fly to distant Asia. First to Hong Kong (China) and then to Suwon (South Korea). The women’s European Championships will start on August 15. The Polish national team will play in group A with Belgium, Slovenia, Serbia, Ukraine and Hungary.
