The Rising Sun Judo Club has 42 years of history. After many years located in the Atanasio Girardot Stadium, it moved to Belén with the aim of uniting the communities of El Rincón and La Loma de los Bernal around this martial art of Japanese origin.
“Young people are learning that this martial art has an ultimate philosophy that is mutual prosperity. If I don’t grow, my partner doesn’t grow either,” explained sensei Juan Carlos Arboleda.
Girls and boys from all over Belén and even from other sectors of Medellín and the Aburrá Valley come to the Inder headquarters in Medellín in Loma de los Bernal to practice this martial art with the Sun Rising Club.
“I liked it because I have some friends I met here. I like being here because all the teachers are good people, they teach me the katas and everything”, said the judoka María Paz Montañés.
