The Venezuelan reliever for the Philadelphia Phillies, José Alvaradomade soft pitches from a distance of 60 feet this week in San Francisco. This with a view to being able to rejoin the ‘Quakers’ bullpen soon.

It should be noted that this was his first time pitching since he was placed on the disabled list on May 10 due to inflammation in his left elbow, in what ended up being a simple scare for those led by Rob Thomson, since initially it was thought that Alvarado could miss the rest of the season.

However, earlier this week it was reported that Alvarado had the green light to start a light pitching plan, to gradually loosen his arm and get it in shape to resume his work in the best baseball in the world.

Now, manager Rob Thomson noted that Jose Alvarado will likely need a minor league rehab assignment before he can be re-signed to the Phillies’ big-team bullpen.

Meanwhile, in 14 appearances and 14.1 innings of work, the Zuliano has five saves, four holds, 24 strikeouts, a 0.63 WHIP and a prescription rate per nine innings of 15.07.
