Jamal Murray is eligible for a 3-year, $144 million extension

The Canadian Jamal Murray could negotiate this summer an extension of his current contract with the Denver Nuggets for 3 additional years at a rate of a total of 144 million dollars, reports journalist Brian Windhorst from ESPN.

Murray has left behind his serious physical problems to shine in these 2023 playoffs where he is obtaining figures of 27.7 points, 5.5 rebounds and 6.1 assists in close to 40 minutes per day.

He is currently receiving a salary of 31.65 million dollars, and ahead of him two guaranteed courses remain at a rate of 70 million. In 2025 he would become an unrestricted free agent if he doesn’t agree to a renewal with the Colorado franchise first.

“Embiid deserves the MVP”

Nikola Jokic has avoided all kinds of controversy when asked about the MVP award that Joel Embiid has won ahead of him, and the Greek Giannis Antetokounmpo. As the Denver center has recognized, the result of the voting is fully deserved.

«To be honest, I really don’t think about the MVP’s. I think people are mean and say that Joel (Embiid) doesn’t deserve the award. But I think so. I think if you look, he’s played extremely tough basketball on both sides of the court,” Jokic said.

“He’s really had an incredible season in the 82 games or the ones he’s played,” he added.
