It’s official, Adilson Maringa replaces Nadeo Argawinata at Bali United

GIANYAR, KOMPAS.com – Bali United officially brought in former Arema FC goalkeeper, Adilson Maringa, to fill in the goalkeeping sector following the departure of Nadeo Argawinata to Borneo FC.

His track record while defending Arema FC has made Bali United coach Stefano Cugurra not hesitate to recruit for next season.

He has successfully shown an impressive record in his first career season in Indonesia in 2021.

One of them is making an unbeaten record in 23 consecutive matches and ending the competition by finishing in the top 4, Arema FC’s highest position during the League 1 era.

Adilson Maringa completed his positive record with a record of 14 clean sheets in the same season so that he was included in the ranks of the best goalkeepers in League 1 even though he was a debutant.

The following season, he led Arema FC to win the pre-season tournament as well as winning the 2022 President’s Cup Best Player.

Unfortunately, his slick performance declined in the competition. Throughout the 2022-2023 League 1, the Brazilian goalkeeper appeared inconsistent with the many goals scored against Arema FC

In total, he conceded 32 goals and was only able to keep a clean sheet 8 times.

However, that did not dampen Stefano Cugurra’s intention to recruit Maringa to Bali United next season.

“The team needs a new goalkeeper, Maringa has played well at Arema, won the 2022 President’s Cup. Maringa was also chosen as the best player,” said the coach who is usually called Teco.

“The coaching team have seen him play several times at his previous club. This is also a recommendation from Bali United’s goalkeeping coach, Coach Marcelo,” he continued.

“His quality is good, the players have also adapted to League 1. He has adapted to Indonesia.”

Adilson Maringa’s joining practically has an impact on the quota of foreign players owned by Bali United in other positions.

So far the team has recruited foreign players in Privat Mbarga, Eber Bessa, Brwa Nouri. Thus, there are still two slots for foreign players in other sectors.

Seeing this, Stefano Cugurra has no problem with the quota of foreign players for the team nicknamed Serdadu Tridatu.

“This team needs to be in the position of goalkeeper so there is no problem with the quota of foreign players,” concluded the former Persija Jakarta coach.

Now Bali United has three goalkeepers, Adilson Maringa, Muhammad Ridho Djazulie, and Rakasurya.
